Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Julius Ogamba has sent an early warning to KPSEA and KCSE candidates that this year will not be business as usual as the ministry targets the utmost integrity.
“The examination season is here again and the government will take stern measures against anybody who will be found cheating in any way,” he said.
He revealed that the ministry, in collaboration with those of interior and transport, has made elaborate plans to ensure that all examination materials are safe and assured candidates that all will be well.
The CS was speaking at Siala Technical Training Institute (TTI) in Awendo Constituency of Migori County, also warning unsuspecting parents not to be duped by unscrupulous cons who purport to have in their possession genuine exam papers.

The CS told them to report any suspicious person they may see near schools to the area chief or nearby police station for scrutiny.
Concerning the new model of funding universities, he defended it as being a good one but said the ministry was sensitive to the inputs of the applicants and their parents.
“We heard your suggestions and with the president’s advice, a commission was appointed to look into the grievances, fine tune them and put all things in order,” he said, asking parents to be patient as the commission does its work.
