KCSE 2024: Students of rural school in Kisii score A plain in Electricity

A rural school has excelled nationally in a technical subject in last year’s KCSE as the dust settles down over the results celebrations.

The little known Nyagechenche Mixed Secondary School in Nyamarambe, Gucha South, registered grade A (plain) in Electricity subject pushing the mean score to 5.653.

According to the Principal Josiah Onsongo, the school presented six candidates for the subject which was also done by another institution elsewhere in the county.

A total of 55 students qualified from the school for entry to public universities, a feat, Onsongo described, as a positive deviation from the previous year.

The Principal disclosed that the learning institution has sets its sights on shining in Aviation subject this year, petitioning the Ministry of Education to provide the requisite infrastructure.

Education News spot check found institutions in the same category which posted improved performance included Suguta COG Mixed Secondary School with a mean of 7.87 followed by Ibacho High School recording a mean of 5.25, all in Masaba South Sub-county.
