KCSE 2024: Jubilation as Cardinal Otunga Girls in Bungoma shines

Cardinal Otunga Girls’ High School in Bungoma County has proved itself as one of the best schools in the country after performing well in the 2024 KCSE.

The school recorded a mean grade of 8.3641 (B-) and an impressive 95.63 per cent university transition rate.

The Bungoma based extra county school registered 2 A plain, 13 A minus, 57 B+, 101 B, 146 B minus, 75C+,17 C and 1 C minus.

Out of the 412 students who sat for the exam, 394 qualified for direct university entry, setting a new record for the school. The school’s success has been praised by parents, teachers, and local leaders.

Speaking to Education News, Senior Principal Christine Sifuna said the success was due to hard work by the teachers, support from the Board of Management, and the discipline of the students. “Our motto, Like Eagles, We Soar High, has guided us to these great results. I am very proud of our students and teachers for their hard work,” she said.

Education stakeholders have promised to support the school so it can perform even better in the coming years.
