KCB Foundation promises to focus more on sponsoring needy students

The Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group Director in charge of Corporate Banking, Okulo Ouko, said the bank will focus on sponsoring bright but needy students through the KCB Foundation.

Ouko said they will also emphasize TVET education more to elevate those who do not make it to the University.

He said the lending institution was keen on diversifying its operations regionally.

Volemi, who spoke at the opening of the Nyanza International Investment Conference, which they are the main sponsors said they must ensure power connectivity to boost internet usage.

At the same time, the Group Director in charge of Technology, Dennis Volemi, said Internet banking, which is taking root, becomes much easier with knowledge of information technology.

He has also called upon county governments to ensure adequate power connectivity to boost their use of information technology.

Volemi similarly urged the devolved units to embrace information technology to conform to the fast-changing global trends.

He said that artificial intelligence revolves around information technology, which requires power and devices.

Volemi said Kenyans must be tech-savvy moving forward, noting that financial technology was fast gaining ground.

The director said they will continue moving around the region as a leading banking institution.
