Katangi Boys High School’s hockey team has once again asserted its dominance in the Machakos County Secondary School Games, securing a spot in the regional championship, which will take place at Chuka Boys.
The team performed stellar, winning all their group-stage matches without conceding a single goal.
They thrashed Machakos Boys 4-0, Kathiani Boys 6-0, and Kitonyini 3-0. In the semifinals, they overpowered Caring Heart 2-0 before clinching the county title with a narrow but hard-fought 1-0 victory over Masinga Boys.
The triumph now sets them on the path to the regional level, where they will battle for a chance to proceed to the nationals.
Katangi Boys has been a consistent contender, having only missed the national championship once since 2020.

Their ambition this year is to go beyond nationals and compete in the East African championship.
Speaking on the team’s success, coach and games master, Benjamin Muia credited their achievements to discipline, teamwork, and dedication.
“We put God first, encourage teamwork, and train hard so we can win easily,” Muia said, exuding confidence in his squad’s ability to go all the way.
As the regionals will be held from today to Saturday, all eyes will be on Katangi Boys to see if they can extend their winning streak and cement their place among the best school teams in Kenya.
