Kangaroo courts have no place in modern society, PS says

Makueni residents march during the launch of 16 days of GBV activism. There were calls to end kangaroo courts in favour of formal structures that have been put in place.

As the country marked 16 days of campaign against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), leaders have called for an end to kangaroo courts as they have no place in a modern society.

Principal Secretary (PS) for Parliamentary Affairs Aurelia Rono, who represented the chief guest Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi at Unoa grounds, strongly condemned people who promote kangaroo courts.

She revealed that the government is strengthening and enhancing the policies already put in place to fight and end GBV, and therefore there was need to put an end to kangaroo courts.
