Opposition luminary Kalonzo Musyoka has demanded  the 2023 KCPE  exams to be remarked for justice to be seen to be done for the pupils who got the wrong marks.

He said that it was unfair for children to work for eight years only to be awarded undeserved marks.

“Let those examinations which were marked hurriedly be remarked,” he said.

Kalonzo was speaking at Nyamache town during the homecoming ceremony of Kisii County Governor Simba Arati.

His sentiments were echoed by Kitutu Chache South MP Anthony Kibagendi, who castigated the incompetency in the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), calling for dismissal of culpable officers.

“We have many qualified young Kenyans who should replace those incapable officials who have been unable to do a good job,” he said.

He accused KNEC officials for labelling some schools from Gusii region as notorious in examination malpractices, wondering why they should not put their house in order before pointing accusing fingers at others.

The function was graced by opposition leader Raila Odinga, who appealed for peace in the county to enable the governor deliver his election promises.

“I appeal to all Gusii leaders to embrace dialogue with governor Arati so that he can have peace of mind to serve the people who elected him,” he said.

Raila was referring to the emerging differences between the governor, his deputy Robert Monda, Senator Richard Onyonka and the Woman Representative Dorice Aburi.

The three accuse governor Arati of misappropriating funds meant for County Education Bursary and converting it into his personal education foundation.

The ceremony was attended by three governors; Gladys Wanga (Homabay) Paul Otwoma (Busia) and Wavinya Ndeti of Machakos County, among other leaders.
