Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Kakamega branch officials and teachers came together yesterday to announce that the strike is on.
Led by the branch Executive Secretary Harrison Otota, they said they were obeying the orders of the National Governing Council (NGC) that pronounced the previous day that they have to push for their demands.
According to the officials, teachers who have stagnated for over 20 years on the same job group must be promoted. This was one of the grievances that they said they were going to agitate for the duration of the strike.
