Beneficiaries of the Kajiado County Government’s sponsorship who scored B plain or higher in the 2023 KCSE examination will further get full scholarships for their university education, Governor Joseph ole Lenku has revealed.
This was announced after the governor met some 500 fully sponsored students through the Kajiado County Scholarship Scheme.
The secondary school, college and university students from across the 25 Wards have completed the various levels of education for which the scholarships were given.
The governor expressed his pride in the success of the huge investment in human capital, saying the courses done by the students are aligned to the prevailing job opportunities in Kenya.
The county gave priority to the sectors of Health, Agriculture, Water and ICT, raising the allocation for scholarships and bursaries from the Ksh40 million in 2017 to Ksh150 million in this Financial Year.
In the next two weeks, the second cohort of the scholarship programme will be announced as the county continues to give bursaries to other needy students to ensure a 100 per cent transition to secondary school.
