Learners in secondary schools from Kabuchai Constituency, Bungoma County, have received a major boost after their area Majimbo Kalasinga, disbursed bursaries worth Kshs 10 million to cater for their tuition fees.

Speaking to the press outside the NG-CDF offices in Musese, Majimbo stated that the funds will support students from Kabuchai studying in schools within Bungoma County.

The legislator further announced that an additional Kshs 33 million will soon be released to cover school fees for the remaining students, including those in tertiary institutions.

“Last week, we disbursed Kshs 3 million to secondary school students studying outside Bungoma County. This initiative aims to ensure all students remain focused on their studies,” said  Majimbo.

Hon. Majimbo urged the National Government, through the Ministry of Education, to ensure that school principals receive capitation funds quarterly.

He said that many school heads are forced to send students home due to financial constraints, further burdening parents who are already struggling with the high cost of living.

The MP further pointed out that the NG-CDF has continued to be a lifeline for needy students. He vowed to advocate for the protection of the fund through the National Assembly to ensure continued support for vulnerable learners.
