Joy as top KCSE student in Kilifi visits remote primary school to thank teachers

Grace Sidi scored an A plain in KCSE 2024 to emerge the best in Kilifi.

There was joy and dance as the top student in the recently released 2024 KCSE results in Kilifi County visited her former remote primary school to thank teachers.

Grace Sidi, 18 years who scored an A plain of 83 points at Bahari Secondary School located in Kilifi North Sub-county visited Bandacho Primary School where she sat her Education KCPE in 2021 and scored 389 marks.

She was received by joyful learners and teachers. Sidi was accompanied by her parents, Pascal Katana and Elina Karisa and also 14 former classmates at the school who also received their 2014 KCSE results. The other 42 classmates had also performed well in the examination.

Tacked 42 kilometers from Malindi town and located in Magarini Sub-county, Bandacho Primary has been hitting headlines with candidates scoring high marks despite having dilapidated infrastructure and teacher shortages.

“Today I have come to say thank you to my teachers at Bandacho Primary for shaping my education which enabled me to work hard at Bahari Girls. I want to pursue a course in Medicine and become a doctor,” she was quoted as saying.

She challenged learners at the school to concentrate on studies and be focused to perform well in their final examinations.

Her father, Katana said that the idea of visiting the former primary school was her daughter’s who wanted to encourage learners at the school to work hard in their studies and lift the school’s name high.

“I am very happy to be here to celebrate with Bandacho Primary school fraternity, especially the teachers who laid a good foundation for my daughter’s education and I am also pleased to see her former colleagues here who also performed well in the KCSE examination,” he said.
