Homa Bay County is abuzz with celebration after Orero Boys High School recorded a stellar performance in the national examinations, producing 614 students eligible for direct university entry.
The school’s impressive achievement has positioned it as one of the leading academic institutions in the region.
Speaking to Education News in a phone interview, Chief Principal Dickens Bula attributed the success to a combination of early syllabus coverage, dedicated teaching staff, and the strong collaboration between teachers and students.
“Our teachers burn the midnight oil doing revisions, ensuring that our learners are well-prepared for the examinations. Additionally, the cooperation between students and the teaching staff has been key to achieving these results,” Bula stated.

The school registered an impressive grades recording 73 A minus, 209 B+, 342 B, 85 B- and 5 C+.
With a mean score of 9.4235, Orero Boys has cemented its reputation as a top-performing extra-county school.
Parents, local leaders, and education stakeholders in Homa Bay have expressed their pride and gratitude for the school’s achievement, which they say reflects the region’s commitment to academic excellence.
