Nyeri Town MP Duncan Maina Mathenge has officially handed over four newly constructed Junior Secondary School (JSS) classrooms at Nyamachaki Primary School in Nyeri town.

The MP was accompanied by Nyeri County Director of Education Jane Njogu.

The project, aimed at supporting the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), was funded through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) in collaboration with the National Government.

The construction, which cost KSh10 million, was designed to maximize the limited space available at the school with classrooms sitting on just half an acre of land.

To address the space constraints, the project features multi-story buildings, ensuring efficient use of land while providing adequate learning facilities for students transitioning to Grade 9 under the CBC system.

Classrooms were constructed by NGCDF funds.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, MP Mathenge emphasized the importance of timely delivery of the project to ensure learners have access to quality infrastructure as they progress under the new education system.

The classrooms were designed to save space.

In addition to Nyamachaki, several other schools in the constituency are undergoing similar upgrades to prepare for increased enrollment under the CBC system.

The MP urged other stakeholders to support such efforts to improve education access and quality in the region.

Parents and students expressed their gratitude for the timely completion of the classrooms, noting that the improved facilities will enhance the learning experience and help learners achieve academic excellence.
