Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina has officially opened Kieni Comprehensive School in Huhoini sub-location, Kabaru Ward, through funding from Kieni NG-CDF marking a significant milestone in the educational development of Kieni.
Speaking during the opening ceremony recently, Wainaina emphasized the importance of the new school in improving access to quality education for local students. The school, which boasts 13 fully equipped classrooms, two modern laboratories, and a spacious hall, is set to transform education in the area.

“This institution will significantly reduce the daily burden for our children, who previously had to walk eight kilometers to access secondary education,” the MP stated. “Now, they have an opportunity to learn closer to home.”
Wainaina also asked parents to take full advantage of the new facility by registering their children at the school. He assured the community the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) would deploy qualified teachers to the school, ensuring the smooth start of academic programmes.

Previously known as Kieni Star Secondary School, the institution has undergone substantial renovations and upgrades to meet modern educational standards.

The school is expected to cater for hundreds of students, reducing overcrowding in neighbouring institutions and improving overall academic performance in the area.
Wainaina expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful establishment of the school. He reiterated his commitment to prioritizing education in Kieni and called on the community to support the institution as it embarks on its journey to shape the future of the region’s youth.

The school now stands as a testament to the transformative power of investment in education, promising a brighter future for students in Huhoini and beyond.
