Invest in JSS, MP urges government

Uriri Constituency MP Mark Nyamita has urged the government to invest in Junior Secondary Schools -JSS.

The lawmaker asked the government to channel more resources into JSS to tackle the pressing challenges they face.

He was speaking at St. Pius Uriri High School.

He emphasized that the success of this vital educational level depends on the collective efforts of all stakeholders in the education sector.

“The hurdles JSS students encounter are significant,” Nyamita stated.

He highlighted issues such as teacher shortages, inadequate classroom space, and a lack of essential learning materials.

The MP expressed frustration towards politicians who prioritize personal agendas over the development of education.

“We must prioritize our children’s education; they are the future pillars of this nation,” he declared.

To support local students, Nyamita revealed that his NG-CDF office has allocated a substantial Ksh 52 million for educational funding.

This initiative will provide financial assistance to university, tertiary, and secondary school students, ensuring an equal distribution among all applicants.

While acknowledging that the bursary fund is insufficient given the overwhelming demand, he urged patience from those who may not receive aid this time, promising a second phase of funding opportunities.

“Today, we launched the online phase one of our education fund allocation, but rest assured, more will come in phase two,” he affirmed.

Moreover, Nyamita called for a renewed commitment to inclusive politics, emphasizing that a collaborative approach among leaders is essential for fostering peace and driving development in the country.

“Inclusivity is not just beneficial; it is crucial for our progress,” he said, reminding everyone that the future of education—and the nation—depends on the actions we take today.
