After the ill-fated Hillside Endarasha Academy was reopened on Wednesday this week, the High Court has ordered the closure of dormitories as a safety measure.
The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) had moved to court to block its reopening, but the High Court allowed the school to operate on condition that the dormitories are not used.
The school reopened on Wednesday after a month-long closure following the fire that killed 21 boys.

Justice Isaac Ondigi in his ruling said that the dormitories posed a significant risk to the children, and allowing its use was to expose them to the same dangers.
The school reopens barely weeks after an emotional burial of the 21 boys who perished in a dorm fire whose cause is yet to be established, and only a week to the end of third term.
