Kuresoi South Mp Joseph Tonui has assured heads of schools in the sub-county that he will not interfere with their management of schools.

Speaking at Ogiek Sotiki Day Secondary School, Tinet ward in his constituency, which led the entire constituency, posted a 5.7 mean score in KCSE and sent 70 learners to universities; MP Tonui said that most of the schools have competent boards of management and, as such, would not encourage politicization of school running to ensure that they remain focused on delivering quality education.

“I am happy about the running of most of the schools. The principals are doing well, and I encourage them to continue working closely with the boards to address any emerging issues,” he said.

Accompanied by the sub county security and education committee led by Deputy County Commissioner Malak Namai, sub-county Director of Education Donet Otieno, and school Principal and Chairperson of the Bom, MP Tonui said the sub-county had leapt to fourth position out of eleven sub-counties, lauding the new sub-county director of education Donet Otieno for her steady focus.

On politics, Tonui said that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga ought to be accommodated in the government to contribute to the nation’s stability and accelerate national development programmes.
