Bonchere village in Masaba South Sub county of Nyamira, is mourning the untimely death of Brian Mogaka, 19, who reportedly committed suicide for unknown reasons.
Speaking at the late Mogaka’s home, Nyumba Kumi Chairman David Onchere asked the youth to embrace self-control to enable them live.
According to family members, the deceased left his neighbour’s home where he had been attending a funeral late in the evening and went into his hut for sleep without talking to anyone.
When the mother noticed her son hadn’t turned up for breakfast at the usual time, she was worried and decided to go into his hut to check up on her son. It was then that she raised the alarm and alerted villagers who came, broke the window and entered the room.
The body of the deceased was found hanging by rope from the roof of his cottage.
Police from Ramasa Police Station took the body to Uchuni Sub County Hospital Mortuary for postmortem and further investigation on the cause of the death.
The police confirmed that the late Brian Mogaka was among the KCSE candidates of this year from one of the local secondary schools.
