Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has called on young graduates to harness creativity, innovation and resilience to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
Speaking during Kibabii University’s 9th graduation ceremony, the governor highlighted the transformative role of technology and innovation in advancing socio-economic development.
“Our county government is dedicated to nurturing partnerships with Kibabii University, focussing on scholarships, research, and infrastructure development,” Lusaka said.
He also reaffirmed the county’s commitment to supporting the institution’s growth, announcing plans to allocate additional land in Kopsiro and Sang’alo to facilitate its expansion.

He further lauded a recent collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), which has significantly improved the water supply for both the university and the surrounding community. This initiative aligns with the county’s broader strategy of promoting education, entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
In his address to the graduates, Lusaka encouraged them to leverage their skills to develop innovative solutions and drive Bungoma’s growth.
“You are the architects of our future. Use your knowledge to create opportunities and contribute not only to our county but to the world,” he said.
The ceremony marked a milestone for Kibabii University as it continues to mark its position as a hub of academic excellence and community impact.
