Govt urged to lower varsity entry grade to C plain

Professor Robert Lang'at, Highlands University Chancellor.

Highlands University Chancellor Prof. Robert Lang’at has urged the government to reduce university entry points to C plain.

Lang’at said the move will enable as many students as possible to join university unlike what is happening at the moment.

Addressing the press, he said he is aware of many professors who attained lower grades than the current requirement of C+ and above to join university.

He also faulted the increase of school fees, saying it contradicts the government’s free education plan.

He rooted for the opening up of the digital space; a move he says will boost job creation in the country.

Prof. Langat further announced the launch of nursing programmes at the university, noting that they will closely partner with the Tenwek Hospital to that end.

The minimum grade for university degree qualification in Kenya is currently a C+.
