Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu is focused on mentoring the youth through creating discussion forums.
In a move to mentor the youth, the governor over the weekend met leadership of the Laikipia County Tertiary Institutions Students Association (LACTISA) in Nanyuki town where they had a candid discussion and charted the way forward.
The Governor said the mentorship and connection programme was designed to bring the youth together.
“This is an essential component of a university student’s journey towards success in their chosen field,” said the governor.
Irungu said his aim is to help the students make informed decisions about their future.

“Also equip them with the necessary tools like attachments and internships to navigate the competitive job market,” said the governor.
Laikipia county government, he said, is committed to creating a professional database in consideration of their professionalism.
The data to be collected will focus on the status of the students, touching on the level of education, and if employed, the courses they are pursuing among others.
