Governor hands Christmas gift of Ksh182M in bursaries

The Governor of Nyandarua County Dr. Moses N. Badilisha. He gave bursaries worth Ksh182 million to residents to put a smile on their faces in the Christmas season.

Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha of Nyandarua has handed a Christmas gift to learners in the county, issuing cheques worth Ksh182 million to an astounding 38,650 children.

The handing over ceremony at Adhi House grounds was greeted with joy by enthusiastic students, proud parents, and prominent county officials after an inclusive and transparent process of identifying beneficiaries.

Gratitude filled the air as Patricia Wambui, a parent from Kaimbaga, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Governor Badilisha for introducing a predictable disbursement timetable.

“This is the best present you’ve gifted us as parents. We are now certain that our children will go back to school comfortably. There is no better gift than this, especially during these difficult times,” Wambui exclaimed.

Governor Badilisha in turn acknowledged the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders involved in ensuring the success of the bursary programme.

“It is my assurance that every deserving student will be reached, even as we strive to increase resources available to parents through economic interventions. Our ultimate goal is to reduce dependency on bursary support,” he said.

Under Governor Badilisha’s administration, a remarkable Ksh388.5 million has been allocated and disbursed for bursary and scholarship programmes in the past year alone, which has benefitted an impressive total of 82,963 students, with an additional 56 receiving full scholarships.
