Governor and TSC director discuss plans to improve education in West Pokot

Speaking during a courtesy call by the TSC County Director, Dr.Esther Musani, West Pokot County Governor Hon Simon Kachapin promised to collaborate with the Teachers Service Commission Office to take education standards to the next level.

“The County Government of West Pokot would wish to assure you unwavering support in every mentioned area to enhance success in education which is indeed one of my greatest areas of focus”

One of the main areas of discussion was to have a balanced workforce across the county to enhance equal opportunities for innovation, sustainable development and economic growth.

Additionally, the county government agreed that they would assist in capacity building for all the educators so that teachers and other stakeholders can be adequately equipped with skills, resources and processes so that they can adapt to what is expected of them.

They added that through the same, greater resilience and fulfilled stakeholders expectations will be realized thereby fostering development in the entire county.

The duo agreed to put interventions in place to foster improved performance, increased collaboration, greater innovation and better strategies to improve learning in the expansive county.

The county government also promised to improve the teaching and learning environment which will go a long way in building collective teacher efficacy and improve learning outcomes. All these will help learners feel comfortable and improve academic performance.

Present during the discussions was the CEC Education, Rebecca Kide, Deputy TSC County Director Mr Paul Kamas, Sub-County Director Mr Robert Aleutum.
