Girl allegedly defiled, impregnated by own father speaks of her tribulations

The girl who was allegedly defiled and impregnated by her father has narrated how she suffered under the cruel hand of her father.

Speaking to Education News Newspaper at her Konate Village in Nyamira County, the 17-year-old former student at Amabuko Secondary School revealed how her father convinced her mother to take her to Nairobi where he had booked for her employment at the Airport.

“My mother and I did not know the hidden motive of my father taking me to Nairobi where he told us he was working.” She said.

When they reached Nairobi, the father locked her in the rental one-room house for one day without eating any food but returned home the following morning with a bottle of fruit juice and then asked her to take it.

“After taking it I did not know how I suddenly went asleep, I think the juice had been laced with intoxicating drugs as I found myself naked in my father’s bed with blood on my private parts,” She said.

She shyly washed the bedding the following morning as her father continued to forcefully sleep with her until it became habitual for three months.

“After telling her that I had conceived he brought tea leaves and fermented them then advised me to take the concoction to abort the supposed pregnancy but all was in vain,” she reported.

One day she got an exit from the room and informed neighbours about her suffering prompting them to send word to her Nyamira rural home for rescue. The suspect, the father, was arrested and taken to Nyamira police station where he recorded a statement and was released on bond.

When Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusah Momanyi learned about the suspect’s suspicious release, she stormed the Nyamira police station and Law courts to demand justice for the girl. She accused Nyamira police of corruption with impunity and asked the intervention of Nyamira Children’s officer for justice to prevail.

Nyamira County Commissioner Erastus Mbui said his office will not defend any officer who concealed crimes, especially those related to child abuse in the County. “Any government officer who will be found guilty of not discharging his or her public duties effectively will be relieved of his or her duties forthwith, ” he said.

He confirmed the re-arresting of the suspect saying that police officers will produce him before court after investigations are over to answer child abuse and defilement accusations labelled on him.

The Commissioner said that the girl was undergoing hospital medication and was responding well to drugs according to the hospital report but said, she needs quick guidance and counselling services to cushion her from trauma and stigma inflicted on her by a trusted father who turned sexual beast.
