Gichugu MP Gichimu Githinji has promised table amendments to the NG-CDF Act seeking to separate bursary from any other allocations in the kitty.
Speaking after commissioning of a modern kitchen and a dining hall at Githage Mixed Secondary School on Wednesday, March 13 Gichimu said that the bursary kitty has not been distributed fairly and equitably thus there is need to ensure equity to all.
He said that for all constituencies should get equal bursary share despite the population so as to ensure areas with high population like Mt. Kenya educate their children.
He said counties and constituencies like Lamu, Wajir, Mandera have been able to sponsor learners through bursary paying full fees whereas in Mt.Kenya with high population are getting little allocation that cannot even keep a learner for a term.
He said, “I will be tabling a bill that will see separation of bursary kitty from other allocations in the NG-CDF kitty, this will be to ensure that all learners in Kenya get equal funding and equal.”

He said the law being used is of 2016 that has been discriminative.
He sort support from members of Parliament from Mt.Kenya and Western who are disadvantaged for the amendment to go through.
“I will be initiating the bill anytime from now so that by the end of the year, the bill will be debated on and possibly be passed so that all can benefit without giving preference to some,” said Gichugu MP.
“Economies of more populated areas is under threat due to high rate of drop outs compared to the areas that have less population since learners who are sponsored through bursary kitty are able to complete their education compared to high populated areas.”
