Residents of Mananasi Estate in Ogembo town in Kisii County have expressed fear of their lives over increased night attacks in the area.
They appealed to the police to intensify security especially at this time when children are at home for April holiday to protect them abuse from frequent marauding night terrorists in the area.
“We need protection from the Government because if the situation continues like this we are going to lose many lives,” said Andrew Asumari.
The residents’ concern comes after a local petrol station pump attendant was attacked at night by unknown people and killed.
According to eye witness, the attackers went to the petrol station and pretended to be customers who wanted petrol for travelling.

One of the attendants who was asleep was reluctant to open for them and that was when they turned to his colleague and hacked him to death.
“I heard his cry from the distance but when I rang the neighbours to come for our rescue they found him already dead,” he said
The unknown attackers struck in the dark night on Wednesday April 3 when most people were deep asleep.
Ogembo police said security officers have started investigations on the cause and motive behind the killing that left Mananas estate residents in shock.
The deceased who identified as Evans Moseti was working with Mandela Station at the outskirts of Ogembo town.
His body was taken to Gucha Sub-county Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and further investigation.
The attack and killing incident is the second one at same petrol station within a span of three months.
