Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates in Othaya constituency have received stationery to use during the exams courtesy of area MP Wainaina Michael Wambugu through the Wambugu Foundation.
Speaking during the issuance in his office, where he met with heads of institutions in the area, the MP said that the move is aimed at ensuring that no student lacks basic equipment during the exam period.
“We understand that some of the parents in our constituency have the challenge of affording important exam equipment like mathematical tables, calculators, geometrical sets and even pens and it is due to these reasons that through my foundation, we came up with the idea to buy every form 4 student sitting for KCSE these things to enable them do their exams efficiently,” he said.

Wambugu called on leaders in the region not to politicize the initiative as the foundation only intends to ensure education standards in the area are top-notch.
At the same time, Karimi High principal, B.W. Ngotho urged parents to be open with their kids to ensure students have an avenue to vent their frustrations.
Gitundu High principal Jane Wanjiku, on her end, lauded the MP for the generous move saying that it will significantly boost candidates’ self-esteem.
