Forum for Women in Development, Democracy and Justice (FODDAJ), in partnership with The International Rescue Committee (IRC) and a consortium of GBV stakeholders, recently reached out to 300 girls across two sub-counties in Kajiado County to engage them in crucial Gender Based Violence (GBV) prevention and risk awareness campaigns, including providing case management services to GBV survivors and referrals to support services.
Through this initiative, FODDAJ provided not only education but also distributed sanitary towels and underwear to ensure these young girls can manage their menses with dignity and confidence.

Together with other stakeholders breaking barriers and supporting Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Kajiado County, FODDAJ has also been working on engaging men in accountable practices through the ‘CheckMate Violence’ campaign.
Through activities such as draught games competitions, the campaign has been raising awareness through messages of non-violence, encouraging men to incorporate and actualize positive traits such as respect, emotional intelligence, and healthy relationships and collaborations, as well as challenge harmful gender stereotypes to empower them to become active allies in the fight against GBV.
The campaign has reached over 2,300 people directly, and more through social media channels.
