Female guard who has graduated with Degree meets Wetang’ula

Security guard Claire Jumma who graduated with Degree in Education with Speaker Moses Wetangula and Tongaren MP John Murumba Chikati.

A female security guard who graduated from Kibabii University with a Degree in Education has met National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, perhaps to seek greener pastures after her toil.

Claire Jumma from Tongaren Constituency has been described as someone who does not give up and a role model  to many.

Wetang’ula commended her for keeping her dream of education alive during the time she was working as a security guard.

“Claire’s education is a testament that no human is limited. Anybody can get there with determination and a clear vision,” said Wetang’ula. “Claire’s life-changing testimony is a true reflection of education being an equalizer in the society. She is now ready to face the future armed with a decent, acceptable and recognizable education.”

He said the graduate’s journey is an example to many people with various backgrounds who for one reason or another are unable to take the steps of education uninterrupted.

Claire, who now teachers in a local school as she awaits employment by Teachers Service Commission (TSC), said her dream of pursuing education was still alive even as she worked as a security guard.
