A family in Otendo village in South Mugirango in Kisii is living in fear after the disappearance of their two children.
According to the mother of the girls, Dorothy Dauglas, 12, a learner at Grade 7 left home with her younger sister for a Christmas walk at Etago town but they never returned.
“They left on Christmas day for a light walk but they never returned and we don’t know what happened,” she said.
Other children who saw them at Etago town said they headed to a neighbouring town, Suguta, to enjoy Christmas with their cousins.

Their mother said she has searched the girls in places including relatives’ homes but without any success.
She appeals to anybody with information to report to any nearby police station.
Area administrator Henry Chucha cautioned parents against leaving the children to walk unguarded as this exposes them to kidnapping.
He asked churches, teachers and other social community workers to organize child centred communal activities that could occupy the children from going astray during these festive seasons.
