Former Bomachoge constituency MP (formerly Majoge-Bassi division), Andrew Rosana Nyanaga, passed away on Monday at his Kitale home after a long illness.

The MP, who legislated from 1974 to 1979, will be remembered for initiating the construction of Sameta Boys and Gionseri Girls’ High schools.

“During his reign, although MPs earned very little salary he used his resources to boost education development projects and sponsorship of children from poor homes to access quality education,” said David Morang’a.

Among dignitaries who have sent messages of condolences to the bereaved family include Bobasi MP Innocent Momanyi and Kisii county Senator Richard Onyonka.

“We mourn an honourable man who laid the foundation for the development of our constituency with tangible projects,” the MP said.
