Narok County Government, in collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs) known as We World, has launched the ‘enCYCLE’ programme in Narok Central sub-county to support girls with sanitary towels during their menstrual cycle.
The NGO, an independent Italian organization which has been active for over 50 years in development cooperation and humanitarian aid projects, led the launch.
Phyllis Shinyada, Principal Magistrate at Narok Law Courts, said all women who have suffered Gender Based Violence (GBV) will access justice while the culprits will face the full force of the law.

AnnaRita Spagnuolo, the Country Director of the organization, said no one should be left behind in the fight against GBV and promotion of menstrual hygiene.
Immaculate Pisoi, a nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA), said local women and girls suffer and don’t know where they can get pads and where to dispose of the used ones, asking partners to consider helping them out.
Another nominated MCA Caroline Nangeya urged parents to take care of the girl child during this long holiday.
Assistant County Commissioner for Narok Central Ali Shakur said that 27.9% people in Narok face GBV and invited faith-based organizations to educate the public on the need to live peacefully irrespective of gender.
