Cabinet Secretary for Education Julius Ogamba has announced that 2024 KCSE examination results will be released in the second week of this month as per the tradition.

The CS, however, did not give the exact date the results will be announced.

He denied delay in the release saying that his office was trying to revert to the old tradition where Form Four examination results were released in January or February.

“It is KCPE that used to be released in December now that there are no standard national examinations, we are positioning results of the examination at their right traditional calender,” he said.

Speaking when he joined other leaders at Omogusii Cultural Festival at Kenyoro School Grounds in North Mugirango Constituency, Nyamira County on December 31 he asked parents to ensure they have set aside required school fees during festive seasons.

He said that the government has strived alot to make education affordable to every Kenyan, but this did not deter parents from providing basic learning materials like pens and exercise books to their children.

On the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), the CS called it a success because most of the parents have embraced and supported it because they have realized its universal application and importance.

He expressed confidence of smooth transition of Grade Seven learners to Junior Secondary School because the government has constructed 1600 modern classrooms across the country to accommodate them.

He admitted that some schools are facing shortage of classrooms and teachers in their stations but assured them of quick ministry’s intervention to have more classrooms constructed and teachers employed to replace those who have retired, died or quitted the TSC to join other sectors.

He thanked Mwanyagetinge Cultural Heritage Council for spearheading cultural and education activities in the region as the instruments of pacifying, passing knowledge and unifying them.

Ogamba asked the youth to embrace the traditional indigenous knowledge and blend it with the modern one to enable them grow and mature holistically.

He also encouraged students to join and enroll the Open university which offers online learning saying it was also offering effective service the other public and private universities.
