Divisions emerge in KUPPET as crucial meeting on fate of strike fast approaches

KUPPET NGC announced a strike a few days ago, but the offer tabled by TSC seems to have unsettled them as now opinion is split on whether to call it off in the meeting tomorrow, or not.

As KUPPET counts down to what seems likely to be a stormy National Governing Council meeting tomorrow, cracks are already showing on their resolve to make good the strike on Monday.

A good number of officials who spoke to Education News this evening have revealed that there is divided opinion among the top brass and the NGC members as to whether to call off the strike or continue as planned.

Some branch officials have however said they will not bow to any pressure to cancel the strike.

An official who spoke to us on his way to the meeting is apprehensive of any backing down, arguing that they cannot call off the strike since already they have mobilized teachers as earlier communicated by his superiors.
