DCI detectives probe death of primary school teacher in Mbeere South

Anthony Magondu, a teacher from Kirinyaga County who was found dead in his rented house in Kiritiri town, Mbeere South.

Police are investigating the cause of death of a 50-year-old teacher from Kirinyaga County who died in his house in Kiritiri Mbeere South Sub-county, Embu County.

Anthony Magondu, was a teacher at Kanyonga Primary School was found dead in his house, three days after resuming work.

He is among the teachers who were affected by Kanyonga Primary School

Mbeere South OCPD Harrison Kinyanjui said friends sensed danger after he went missing for three days and found him dead in his rented house.

Njuguna went on to say that the matter is with the criminal department to ascertain the main cause.

“We received a report of a teacher who was found dead in his house, he was among the teachers on delocalised programme, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is on the matter,” said Njuguna.

Kirinyaga Kenya National Union of Teachers Paul Kanaiyu eulogised the teacher as a hard worker who died in line of duty.

His body is at Kibugi funeral home awaiting postmortem. He will be buried on Thursday at his home in Kagio town.
