Webuye East National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) has announced a new initiative to support education in the region by providing Ksh.5,000 to every day scholar attending school within the constituency.
The area Member of Parliament, Hon. Martin Wanyonyi, made the announcement today during a meeting with school principals drawn from the constituency.
The program, set to begin next Monday, aims to ease the financial burden on parents while enhancing access to education. The MP emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring every child in Webuye East has the opportunity to receive quality education.
Speaking during the meeting, Webuye East Deputy County Commissioner urged parents to send their children to school, warning that it is unlawful to keep school-age children at home.
“No child should remain at home while they are supposed to be in school,” he said, reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance stance on education neglect.
