Council kicks off mass registration of disabled persons

People Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) in Baringo Central sub county will take part in the ongoing mass registration initiated by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities and expected to end on 28th October, 2022.

The programme which started on 24th October, 2022 targets those with severe disabilities aimed at registering them to enable them receive cash transfers, especially those with autism, cerebral palsy and others.

For one to participate in the programme, they require a birth certificate for children under 18 years, national identity cards for those above 18 years and one colored passport size photo.

Those without national identity cards and birth certificates are required to obtain a letter from the area chief /assistant chief indicating their birth place and their age.

PLWDs who already have disability cards are supposed to get registered for new ones.

The Council further urged them to appear in person so as to be assessed by the medical team.
