Nyamira County Commissioner Michael Lesimamu has assured Form Four candidates and their parents of smooth running of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations until its end.
The Commissioner was addressing Centre Managers on Friday at 6:50 AM as they collected examination papers from the storage container at his office compound.
Nyamira County Director of Education Boniface Ouko revealed that 16,180 candidates were sitting the KCSE examinations and wished them success.
“I wish all these candidates good health and clear minds as they sit for their examinations,” he said.
He asked the Centre Managers together with Supervisors and Invigilators to uphold honesty and integrity as they manned the examinations.
“The government has put a lot of trust in you. You have to live up to those expectations,” he told them.
The officer told the teachers that KCPE and KPSEA examinations ended well and expressed optimism that the KCSE examinations shall follow suit.
In Masaba North sub county, the Deputy County Commissioner Tobias Otunga led the teachers and education officials to open the container and flag off the examinations.
He was flanked by the Sub County Director of Education Gabriel Ogada who noted that the sub county presented 2,487 candidates with 1,263 boys and 1,224 girls.
Both officers cautioned the candidates against involving themselves in examination malpractices.
