Needy children from Cottalenga Community Children’s Home in Nairobi were treated to an early Christmas after a group of well-wishers donated a consignment of assorted foodstuff and other basic items.
The vulnerable children could not hide their joy after the well-wishers led by students from Light International School not only made donations but also played games and had memorable interactions with them.
According to Paul Nalo, Career Master at Light International School, despite the fact that the children were needy, they have talents that could be tapped and harnessed to benefit their livelihoods.
Nalo noted that the initiative was organized to show love and empathy to the needy and a way to celebrate the festive season early.
“Our interactions here have proved transformative, fostering empathy and a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable members of the community. We decided to treat them to an early Christmas as a way of celebrating the festive season. We are all reminded of the need to exercise humanity during this season and even beyond,” stated Nalo.
