Jubilation and celebration filled the air today morning at Lugulu Girls’ High School after the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) finally released the 2024 KCSE results.
The results, which had been withheld for several weeks, brought overwhelming joy as the school recorded yet another outstanding performance.
With a mean grade of 9.3417 and a slight improvement from the 2023 mean of 9.3306, the school confirmed its place among the top-performing institutions in the country.
Out of the 676 candidates who sat for the exams, an incredible 672 students achieved the minimum university entry grade of C+, translating to an impressive 99.41 per cent transition rate.
“The grades is a clear reflection of the students’ hard work and the teachers’ dedication,” said the Chief Principal Dinah Cheruyoit.
Only a handful of students scored grades below C+, with no candidate receiving grades D or E. This consistency highlights the school’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence.
The delay in releasing the results had caused anxiety among students, parents, and staff, but the eventual outcome brought great relief and pride.
Speaking to the press, former Bungoma County KUPPET official cum educationist Denson Barasa lauded the students for their resilience and determination despite the prolonged wait.
