Over 1,000 students of Butula Boys High School joined teachers and support staff in planting more than1,000 trees to promote peace in the school and the whole county. The school Principal Daniel Ouma, who led the students in the tree planting exercise initiated by Amani Club, said peace was paramount in implementation of programmes.
“Students are embracing peace by participating in debates for peace, planting trees and promoting peaceful co-existence with the local community,” he observed.
“We have also held barazas with students during guiding and counseling and introduced a suggestion box where students talk to us and we respond to some of their concerns” he explained.
Amani Peace Club Patron Moses Olaka said Butula Boys have embraced peace by engaging in peace debates to emerge champions in Western region.
