Bungoma National Polytechnic has announced the results of its 2025 Students’ Union elections, a significant event that ushers in a new leadership team and sets the stage for the 2025 academic year under fresh leadership.
Dancun Fwamba, a fourth-year student majoring in Engineering, secured the presidency with 642 votes, while his deputy, John Macrains, a third-year student majoring in Business Administration, was elected unopposed.
Billy Mung’au also ran unopposed for the Secretary-General position, ensuring his place in the student leadership.
Renson Sibubu won the finance position with 493 votes. Mara Spenser emerged as the Education Representative with 574 votes, while Dorine Mercy secured the Health Representative seat with 464 votes.

The Sports docket saw Victor Wanyanga clinch victory with 464 votes. Stephen Duncan and Ridah Mauso were elected as Male and Female Representatives, securing 448 and 384 votes, respectively. Collins Wafula was voted in as the representative for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) with 494 votes.
The Technical Courses (T/C) Representative positions were also contested. James Wafula was elected Male T/C Rep with 161 votes, while Viona Murgew secured the Female T/C Rep position with 131 votes.
Moses Sirengo, Chairman of the TBNPIEC, and Hannington Situma, Dean of Students, officially signed and confirmed the election results.
The newly elected leaders, who are expected to take office immediately, have a clear mandate to advocate for students’ rights, welfare, and academic interests, ensuring our needs are at the forefront of their decisions.
The student body, united in their optimism, looks forward to the incoming leadership addressing key concerns and fostering positive change within our institution.
This election marks a significant milestone in student governance at Bungoma National Polytechnic, setting the stage for the 2025 academic year under fresh leadership.
