Nyandarua county has fielded 16,809 candidates to sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, Education News has confirmed.
County Director of Education (CDE) Philip Wambua noted that the number breaks down to 8,290 girls and 8,489 boys.
Speaking in his Olkalou office, Wambua encouraged the candidates and called on to take the examination seriously, saying that the assessment will play a huge role in determining their future career paths.
“Your parents and teachers have a lot of expectations from you, they have done their part by supporting you since joining Form one,” he said.
The Director warned the candidates against involvement in any exam malpractice and asked them to reduce anxiety as the exams were just a scaled-up version of the ones they have been taking normally.
