Boost for school in Murang’a after leader donates furniture

Gikuu Secondary School students have a taste of the new lab stools.

A youth leader in Kiharu has donated stools for the Science laboratory at St. Paul Gikuu Secondary School in Kiharu constituency, Murang’a county.

Chairman of Athi Water Works Development Agency, Charles Karondo, donated the furniture after he visited the school for a motivational session and learnt of the hardships they were going through.

“I promised to help in equipping their new laboratory with lab stools to ensure the learners are comfortable,” he said.

Karondo was optimistic that the talk and the stools will go a long way in boosting students’ morale and improving the learning environment, particularly for Form 4 candidates.

Mary Muchoki, a parent, said the laboratory unit was in dire need as the learners conducted practical sessions while standing.

“The gesture by Karondo is welcome and we call for more assistance from well-wishers,” said Muchoki.
