Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti said it was unfortunate that cases of arson in schools were on the rise, causing parents to incur heavy costs in rebuilding the schools.

Speaking after celebration of mass at the Machakos Town Catholic Cathedral on Sunday, Governor Ndeti who was flanked by members of her executive said although corporal punishment had been banned in schools, it is important for parents not to ‘spare the rod’ in instilling discipline in their children.
