90 primary schools are set to represent Baringo County in upcoming regional games to be held in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.
County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Youth, Sports and gender Mrs Maureen Limashep while speaking during the flagging off event at the county headquarters expressed confidence with the team and lauded it for their hard work that led them to becoming the best in the county.
The CEC said the county government through Governor Benjamin Cheboi was fully committed to realizing and nurturing talents in the county.
She said the county through her docket is in the process of breathing life to existing training camps in the county to allow talents compete favourably with peers from other counties.
The optimistic CEC and sports enthusiast however added that Baringo County government and assembly was working together in the spirit of identifying , nurturing and supporting sprouting talents.
She praised Inter Peace and National Cohesion and Intergration Commission (NCIC ) for their material support and activities like sports to bring peace in warring communities.
The event was also attended by officials from Ministry of Education led by Teachers Service Commission County Director of Education Mr. Japhet Masibo , Kenya Primary School Sports Association representatives and Members of County Assembly representing sports committee
