As schools across the country resumed for Term Two yesterday, May 13, some 20 schools in Baringo North and South constituencies, Baringo County which were closed as a result of continuous banditry attacks failed to reopen for second term.
Charles Tarus, Ngarutuko Primary School head teacher while speaking at the institution on Monday, May 13 revealed that no single student reported to school as parents are yet to return back to their homes after they fled following bandits’ attacks which saw the school offices and some part of the administration block torched down by the bandits.

At Kosile Primary School, the situation is the same. The centre remains deserted.
At the same time, Baringo North OCPD Fredrick Odinga said they have established six new formed units near affected schools and villages in bid to beef up the security of the residents so that things can go back to normalcy and ensure that students gets a chance to study.
Consequently, with the on-going floods in most parts of the country, at least five schools in Baringo failed to reopen as the heavy floods rendered the schools inaccessible for parents, teachers and students
The primary schools include Leswa, Loropil, Loitip and Longeiwan.
