Some 113 Equity Leadership Programme students have earned admission and scholarships to 71 global universities across 22 countries worldwide.
Dr James Mwangi, the Executive Chairman of the Equity Group Foundation (EGF), oversaw the airlift of 113 learners from the Equity Leaders Programme across four countries: Kenya 82 students, Rwanda (21), Uganda (8), and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) (2).
The students have been awarded scholarships worth Ksh2, 797, 026, 475 (USD 21,497,646) for their four-year undergraduate programmes.
Additionally, each students will receive an airlift token of Ksh200, 000 to aid in their transition to international universities.
Under the Education and Leadership Development pillar of EGF, students who participated in Equity Bank’s paid internship programme also took part in a comprehensive two-month College Counseling programme.

Garang grew up at the Kakuma Refugee Camp. He later joined Baringo Boys High School where he scored an A of 82 points.
This year’s admissions have successfully placed 970 students in prestigious universities with fully funded scholarships. Among them, 13 students will be attending Ivy League schools, including Brown University (1), Columbia University (1), Harvard University (4), Princeton University (2), Cornell University (1), and the University of Pennsylvania (4).
The Equity Leadership Program (ELP), initiated by the Equity Group Foundation in 1998, aims to develop the next generation of leaders. The first ELP scholar now serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Equity Group. By selecting and mentoring top-performing students from across Equity Group’s subsidiaries, ELP has become a powerful force for transformative change.
This programme is designed to equip young leaders with the skills, knowledge, and connections necessary to drive sustainable economic growth and social progress throughout the continent. ELP takes a holistic approach, integrating academic excellence, character development, and hands-on experience, to create a network of leaders ready to address Africa’s most urgent challenges.
