Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Foundation, in partnership with Webuye East Constituency NG-CDF, has launched a KSh 5 million programme to sponsor 100 students pursuing technical courses at Matili Technical Training Institute.
This initiative, called “2Ajiri Youths with Technical Skills,” was officially launched at the Webuye East Deputy County Commissioner’s office, attracting a large group of stakeholders, including government officials, education leaders, and banking executives.
The initiative is jointly funded by Webuye East NG-CDF and KCB Foundation, with each contributing KSh 2.5 million.
Its goal is to equip youth with practical, market-driven skills that enhance employability. Notably, 70 per cent of the beneficiaries are female, including teenage mothers, highlighting a strong emphasis on gender inclusivity and economic empowerment.

Addressing the beneficiaries, KCB Foundation Chief of Party Benson Barasa urged students to seize this opportunity, emphasizing that education and technical training are essential tools for transforming lives.
Webuye East MP Martin Wanyonyi encouraged parents to support their children on their educational journeys, while KCB Foundation’s East Africa Implementation Officer Claric Juma stressed that this initiative is a strategic response to Kenya’s growing unemployment crisis.
The launch was also attended by KCB Western Region Manager Amos Kimtai, along with several branch managers, demonstrating the bank’s commitment to fostering sustainable livelihoods through skills development.
